A boutique, micro winery specializing in the production of very small lots of luxury wines.  Our focus is on handcrafting wines of exceptional character, with fruit from Paso Robles for our Cabernet Sauvignons and Rhone blends and fruit from the Santa Lucia Highlands in Monterey County for our rich, elegant Pinot Noirs.  

With a total annual production of around 3,500 cases, the Chateau Margene, Mooney Family & El Pistolero family of wines focus on viticulture and winemaking practices that offer maximum varietal expression.  Chateau Margene is foucsed on Bordeaux style blends (Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot).  Mooney Family produces Pinot Noirs from the Santa Lucia Highlands and Rhone blends from Paso Robles.  El Pistolero us our value line of red blends from Paso Robles.

Our flagship wine, the Chateau Margene Beau Melange, is the only wine where we source 100% of the fruit from our estate vineyard in Creston.  We believe the terrior from our estate vineyard, along with our stringent winemaking practices, allows us to produce a truly exceptional Bordeaux style blend.
