Chateau Margene / Mooney Family Update

Spring is just around the corner and it's going to be a great year.  We've been blessed with nice, consistent rainfall this year and the vineyard is loving it. A few of the happenings around here over the next couple months.

• The 10th Annual New Release Party is on for April 17th with two time slots: 12:00 - 2:00 and 2:30 - 4:30.  If you haven't already, make your advanced reservation by responding to this email.  This food and wine extravaganza is one not to be missed.  Live music, the culinary skills of Executive Chef David McWilliam (Gardens of Avila Restaurant at the Sycamore Mineral Springs) and the release of our 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese (NV).  This is a Wine Club Members event and each member may invite up to 2 guests.  Space is limited.  Cost is $25 per person.  Reservations must be made in advance.  If you are not a Will Call member and wish to pick up your wine club shipment at the party, let us know when you make your reservation.
• Opening our 2nd tasting room and winery at the corner of Vineyard Drive & Peachy Canyon has proven to be a great move.  The number of visitors to that site has exceeded our expectations and our wine club is growing.  No worries though, we'll make sure to keep your personal stash of wines tucked away.  
• On March 20th, we begin our new Reserve Tasting Experience at our Peachy Canyon location.  Exclusive access areas, with plush comfortable seating, where you will be served our Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon & Beau Melange along with artisan cheese, walnut oil, freshly baked bread & chocolate truffles.  Relax, enjoy the company of friends and one of the best wine experiences on the Central Coast.   This experience is available Saturday & Sunday from 11:00a - 5:00p. and advanced reservations are highly recommended due to space availability.  7-day advanced reservations can also be made for Fridays.  Cost: $30 per person / $15 for our Wine Club Members.
• The Chateau Margene Estate tasting room is now offering our Barrel Tasting Experience at our Creston location.  Alongside the winemaker, experience first hand, just how the wines are crafted.  Walk through the blending process as element upon element is added to your glass until the final blend is achieved.  Available on Sunday from 12:00 to 5:00p. with advanced reservation. Cost: $20 / Wine Club Members Complimentary
• The Mooney Family Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noirs are a blend of Dijon clones & the Pommard 4 clone and are being very well received.  If you are a Pinot lover, these two wines are a must taste. 
• A bottling date of April 12th is set the 2007 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, 2007 Beau Melange, along with four Mooney Family wines (2007 Petite Sirah - 2nd batch, 2007 Syrah, 2007 Mourvedre and 2009 Grenache Blanc) 
• Our Cellar Club is now Wait Listed, as is our Club Beau.  We are still offering the Cabernet Sauvignon Only Club and have started a new club, Winemaker's Mixed Selection.  The wines in the new club will be our Cabernet Sauvignons, Pinot Noirs and the Mooney Family Rhone blends.
